Banana Nut Bread

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening or margarine ( I do 1/4 cup each)
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2-4 bananas

Cream together sugar & margarine.

In a separate bowl, beat eggs and vanilla, then beat into cream mixture.

Mix separately: Flour, baking soda, and salt.

Mash bananas to make 1 cup

Alternately add flour mixture and bananas to the sugar mix. Pour into greased pans and bake at @350 for 1 hour.

I found your blog through a friend's blog. Just wanted to tell you thanks for putting these recipes on. We just moved and I haven't unpacked everything. I was wanting to make cookies for my girls for when they got home from school, but didn't have my mixer. I found your cake mix cookie recipe and realized I had all of the ingredients for it and was able to make it without my mixer. They turned out great! Thanks!
